International EdTech Firm Seeks PHP Developer
Do you want to make a social impact on education across various fields in the Netherlands and Europe?
Company Profile
Our partner, founded in 1998 and based in Utrecht, is a leading e-learning company specializing in practical fields. They support professionals across sectors such as healthcare, including doctors, dentists, and physiotherapists, as well as many other disciplines. Currently, they serve around 40 different target groups by offering courses that are fully developed in-house, with specialized experts hired for each field.
The company is the market leader in e-learning in the Netherlands, with the ambition to become the largest player in Europe. To achieve this, they are acquiring companies across Europe, including a recent acquisition of Denmark's largest edtech company. Their goal is to complete as many acquisitions as possible over the next five years and grow into Europe's leading e-learning provider.
The main challenge at present is the integration of various "isolated silos" within the organization. With clients ranging from healthcare institutions to entities like the CBR, the software is currently divided into separate systems. The plan for the coming years is to unify these different systems into a single platform, akin to a "Netflix" for courses. Additionally, acquiring other companies brings extra challenges, such as integrating different tech stacks and organizational structures.
Job description
You will be part of a team of ten developers, with a strong presence of senior expertise that fosters knowledge sharing and collaboration. As previously mentioned, this company is committed to becoming the largest e-learning provider in Europe, and you will play a crucial role in achieving this goal. Your responsibilities will include merging various systems and platforms into a single integrated solution, while also ensuring everything operates as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Given that the company has been established for 25 years, there is an ongoing project to replace outdated software with modern solutions. All systems are being migrated to new platforms and developed in PHP Laravel, which is a vital step for the company’s future.
