Get-E is a reliable service offering a comfortable range of vehicles for travelers everywhere. Their clients include business travelers, airline crews, B2B partners, and assistant travelers.

Since 2019, venture capital has fueled their growth, enabling them to lead innovation in smart transportation management for top global travel brands. They’ve recently expanded into hotel room management for airline crews, adding even more value to their services.

With a team of around 80 people from 21 different nationalities, they foster an open, collaborative, supportive, and inclusive work environment. They focus on expanding their services, managing the product, and ensuring it handles a heavy load—sometimes reaching 10 to 20 requests per second—while maintaining the highest code quality standards. They operate in a trunk-based development environment with feature flags, deploying around five times daily, with every developer empowered to handle deployments independently.

The development team includes nine developers, mostly at medior and senior levels. Their codebase is primarily built in PHP Laravel (70%), with some Java and Golang on the backend. The frontend is built using React. Get-E runs all software on AWS within their own Kubernetes cluster. All services are containerized using Docker, and deployments are managed with GitOps via ArgoCD.

Due to Get-E's rapid growth, they are seeking new talent to create the best user experiences for their customers.

As a Backend Developer, you will have a dynamic role that not only offers variety but also gives you the chance to make a significant impact on the team and the company. Some of the key responsibilities include:

The role involves building new features and integrating third-party systems, as well as improving system reliability through bug fixes. You will create and maintain automated tests to ensure robust and efficient software, while refining user stories and tasks to ensure clarity and actionability. Addressing technical debt and utilizing event-driven architecture with command and event buses are essential parts of the job. You’ll work in a hybrid ecosystem that combines monoliths and microservices within a Kubernetes cluster on AWS. The position also requires applying Domain-Driven Design, conducting code reviews, managing RESTful APIs, and maintaining proper code structure and domain separation to promote low coupling within the codebase.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain your technical choices to the team and stakeholders.
• Solid experience with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL and a deep understanding of transactions and isolation levels.
• Extensive experience with PHP Laravel and related back-end technologies.
• Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker for scalable, high-performance back-end development.
• Familiarity with handling high-load systems, including performance tuning, zero-downtime upgrades, and scaling.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures and experience with technologies like Apache Kafka.
• Expertise in Domain-Driven Design and the ability to apply it effectively in large projects.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken, to collaborate with international colleagues and remote teams.
