With the booming NFT market, one of the leads of The Sandbox (the second biggest metaverse in the space) had a preminition. How about using collectible Ape NFTs to create the most engaging Basketball NFT game to date? Combining the collectibilty of NFTs, gamification and branding possibilities, the team behind this project has set out with one goal in mind;

"Create a game with a online presence that will combine sports, lifestyle, gaming, NFT's and the Metaverse into one."

In their first investment round they received 4.5 million from investors. With big names such as Stephe Curry and Paul George backing the project and collabs with brands like Under Armor, this start up is well under way to be a staple in the NFT world.

Even through the bear market the floor price of their Apes stays close to the 1 eth mark. With a mint price of 0.08 eth in October, to say they aren't doing bad is an understatement.

They have a long term vision to create, not only a game and collectibles, but also, a lasting brand for the next ten years and beyond. They need you to realise this goal!

Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated lead artist to join a tight-knit and highly collaborative team. They are defining what web3 gaming is going to be, and they need someone to represent that vision. As a lead 3d Generalist you will drive innovation, not only in the game but in the wider market. You'll bring the game to life with high quality 3d assets, animations and VFX. While ensuring that your entire team performs with the quality expectations you set. You will be the core member of the team and, along with your leadership, you will help our client shape the world they want to create.

Some responsibilities you can expect:

Work hand-in-hand with the Product Director, to define the in-game visual style
Create in-game assets, animations, and VFXs
Establish and maintain quality benchmarks
Collaborate closely with internal and external developers to ensure visual quality and consistency
Take ownership of tasks from concept through delivery
Maintain the highest level of visual quality, while understanding the technical and budget limitations
Work closely with the Brand, Partnerships, and Community teams to showcase the game across channels

Requirements

You have a robust 3D portofolio, with an animation reel showing character and creature animation.
Hands-on skill with the full 3D pipeline - Modelling, animation and VFX skills
Expert in Maya and gameplay systems
Solutions-focused experience defining MVPs and working with fast iterative processes
Strong communication and leadership skills
Good instincts for realistic and stylized motions
If you have worked on a mobile game, sport game or worked with outsourcing teams would be a big plus.
