    Senior Frontend Developer

A growing software company in Amsterdam is looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to help build and modernize a complete learning, assessment and examination platform. You will work with Vue 3 and TypeScript, improve the frontend architecture and help make AI a practical part of the development process.

Please be aware: A Certificate of Conduct is required as part of the process. Visa sponsorship and relocation support are not available for this position.

    Company Profile

This Dutch SaaS company develops software that helps educational institutions, businesses and government organisations manage learning, assessment and professional development. Its products are used to make skills visible, conduct examinations and support people in achieving qualifications.

The organisation has more than 100 employees across four offices in the Netherlands. After building a strong position in the Dutch market, the company is now investing in further professionalisation and international growth across Europe.

You will join a product development team of sixteen people. Frontend developers, backend developers, QA engineers and DevOps engineers work closely with product owners, a Scrum Master and a technical team lead.

The culture is accessible, collaborative and focused on ownership. Developers are given the freedom to make technical decisions, suggest improvements and take responsibility for product quality. Knowledge is also shared through dedicated guilds for frontend, backend, DevOps and development practices.

    Job description

As a Senior Frontend Developer, you will work on a complete platform for learning, assessment and examinations. You will build new functionality, maintain existing features and gradually modernise the current frontend.

An important part of the role is transforming legacy code into Vue 3 and TypeScript. This is not simply a maintenance position. You will have the opportunity to introduce modern design patterns, improve the underlying architecture and make structural changes to the way the frontend is built.

You will also collaborate with other product teams on a shared frontend architecture that can be used across multiple SaaS products. This includes thinking about reusable components, technical standards, testing and the long term direction of the frontend environment.

AI is becoming an increasingly important part of the development workflow. The goal is not to use AI only as a coding assistant, but to explore how it can improve the way software is designed, built, reviewed and released. The company is therefore looking for someone who already uses AI tools regularly and can assess new applications critically.

    Your responsibilities include:

    • Developing and maintaining the learning and examination platform
    • Modernising legacy code using Vue 3 and TypeScript
    • Improving the frontend architecture with modern design patterns
    • Contributing to a shared architecture used across multiple SaaS products
    • Writing and maintaining frontend unit tests
    • Integrating AI tools into the daily development workflow
    • Collaborating with product owners, QA, backend and DevOps
    • Contributing to technical standards and development practices

    Job requirements

For this role, you need solid experience with modern frontend development and the ability to work comfortably with both new and existing codebases.

    You bring:

    • Professional experience as a frontend developer
    • Experience with Vue and TypeScript
    • Experience writing and maintaining frontend unit tests
    • A willingness to work with legacy code and modernise it responsibly
    • Experience using AI tools as part of your development workflow
    • The ability to contribute to architectural decisions and technical standards
    • A proactive and collaborative approach
    • Professional working proficiency in English
    • The legal right to live and work in the Netherlands without sponsorship
    • Experience with React is considered a plus. The same applies to experience with SaaS platforms, educational technology, Playwright, InertiaJS or PHP.

    Working conditions

    • A salary between €4,500 and €5,500 gross per month based on 40 hours
    • A contract for 32 to 40 hours per week
    • An initial one year contract with the intention of offering a permanent position
    • 29 vacation days based on a 40 hour working week
    • Hybrid working with at least two days per week at the Amsterdam office
    • A pension scheme
    • Expense reimbursement
    • A structured onboarding programme
    • Room for personal and technical development
    • Access to OpenUp for you and your immediate family
    • Regular social activities, drinks, company outings and sports activities
