This Utrecht based technology company develops a digital platform that makes existing vehicles easier and more efficient to use. The complete customer journey is supported digitally, from registration and bookings to payments, verification and administration.

Around fifty people work at the company. The organisation is entering a new phase of growth and combines the financial stability of an established shareholder with the speed and freedom of a scale up.

Ideas can move from discussion to implementation quickly. Developers are therefore expected to think beyond their own discipline, make practical decisions and take responsibility for the outcome.

The culture is social, direct and informal. Colleagues regularly work and have lunch together at the Utrecht office. People take their work seriously, but there is also plenty of room for humour. It is a flexible environment based on responsibility rather than fixed working patterns or unnecessary hierarchy.

Functie omschrijving

You will become the main technical owner of the existing web platform.

You will develop new functionality, improve current user journeys and make sure the frontend remains reliable, scalable and maintainable. The platform includes several customer facing and internal processes, giving your work a direct influence on both the user experience and the daily operation of the business.

You will work in a multidisciplinary product team with backend developers, mobile developers, product and UX. You will also regularly collaborate with colleagues from marketing and customer operations.

Your responsibilities include:

• Developing new functionality with Angular and TypeScript
• Taking technical ownership of the web environment
• Improving existing customer journeys and internal processes
• Translating product and business needs into practical frontend solutions
• Integrating the frontend with REST APIs and backend services
• Working closely with product, UX, backend and mobile development
• Contributing to technical decisions, design discussions and code reviews
• Identifying technical improvements and taking the initiative to implement them
• Balancing delivery speed with quality, maintainability and scalability

This is a role for someone who can work independently and does not need a detailed process around every decision. You should be comfortable challenging assumptions, explaining technical choices and switching between product development, technical improvements and commercial requests.

Functie eisen

• At least four years of professional experience with Angular
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, HTML and CSS
• Experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs
• The ability to independently manage and improve an existing frontend environment
• Experience working directly with product and design
• A pragmatic approach to architecture and software quality
• Professional working proficiency in English
• Willingness to work from the Utrecht office at least three days per week
• An open, direct and constructive communication style
• The confidence to challenge ideas while remaining practical and collaborative

Experience or interest in backend development is a plus. Previous experience as the main frontend developer or technical owner of a web platform would also be highly relevant.
