    DevOps Engineer

Become the first dedicated DevOps engineer for consumer platforms that handle serious traffic every day. You own the Kubernetes stack, with real freedom, real responsibility and direct impact on every dev team.

    Company profile

For my client, a Dutch tech company running several high-traffic consumer platforms, I'm looking for a DevOps Engineer who likes to go broad. The platform is live and stable. Now it needs someone who makes it better.

    Job description

    • Maintain and improve the Kubernetes environment in the cloud: clusters, node pools, ingress and certificate management
    • Build and improve CI/CD and deployment pipelines in GitLab, using Helm charts and plenty of automation
    • Set up monitoring, alerting and notification flows, so problems are spotted before users notice
    • Keep base images, patches, secrets and certificates up to date, and maintain infrastructure in Terraform alongside managed cloud services (databases, cache)
    • Pick up incidents and work with developers on performance and reliability

You work closely with the CTO and the lead architect, and support the mobile, backend and frontend teams who build on your work every day.

    Requirements

    • Hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production, on GCP or AWS (which one doesn't matter)
    • You're comfortable building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
    • Experience with Helm and setting up monitoring and alerting
    • You take ownership: you spot what needs fixing and pick it up yourself, without waiting for a ticket
    • You want to learn beyond your own niche and enjoy working across the whole stack
    • You like working closely with developers instead of on your own island

You don't need to tick every box. If you're close, I'd like to hear from you.

    Terms of employment

    • Salary up to €6000 gross a month based on 40 hours a week, excluding 8% holiday allowance
    • You're the first dedicated DevOps engineer, so you shape how the platform evolves
    • Your work runs at real scale: high traffic, every single day
    • Engineers around you who are deep into observability and want a DevOps colleague to build with
    • 24 vacation days (full-time) and a pension contribution on top of your gross salary
    • A personal development path with coaching and room to grow
    • The choice to work 32, 36 or 40 hours
    • The hardware and software you need to do your job well
    • Hybrid: 2 office days a week, the rest from home
    • Regular team outings and drinks
