DevOps Engineer

A profitable healthtech scale-up based in the heart of Rotterdam, founded a few years ago and already serving tens of thousands of customers across Europe. They combine medical expertise with smart technology to make healthcare more accessible, personal and digital. The tech team is being built up right now, so you join early enough to leave your mark on how things are done. The culture is fast-paced with short lines, lots of ownership and no corporate layers. The working language is English. Hybrid setup: two days per week at the Rotterdam office, the rest remote.

What you will do

You own the cloud infrastructure of the platform. They are not looking for a single-cloud specialist but a cloud generalist: whether your background is AWS, Azure or GCP, your skills transfer. You build and improve CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, alerting and deployment automation. Security is a central part of the role: hardening infrastructure, managing access, and working with highly sensitive health data in a GDPR-regulated environment. You support AI-related work on the roadmap, where secure deployment and data protection remain key priorities. Because this is a scale-up, a small part of the role involves light IT operations such as creating accounts and managing access rights. This is a minor part of the job and you are expected to automate these processes wherever possible.

What we are looking for

Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer or Cloud Engineer with AWS, Azure or GCP. Hands-on experience with security topics: IAM, access management, infrastructure hardening, working with sensitive or regulated data. Experience in healthcare or another regulated environment is a strong plus. Affinity or hands-on experience with AI infrastructure or deploying AI workloads is a strong plus. A systems thinker: you understand how infrastructure, security and product connect, and you can explain your reasoning. Genuinely engaged: this team values people who ask sharp questions, show real motivation and think along about the product, not just the pipeline. Fluent professional English. Dutch is not required.
