Data engineer (AI-first)

Reliable data is the foundation under the AI transformation. You make sure that foundation holds: stable pipelines, clean data and a scalable cloud infrastructure that is ready for AI.

Company profile

For a scale-up in business mobility and financing (moving toward an AI-first organisation) I am looking for a Data Engineer who combines data engineering, data quality and cloud engineering in one role.

What you do

• You build and maintain reliable data pipelines (ETL/ELT, using tools like Airbyte) and integrate sources such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Exact, GA4 and external APIs
• You design and manage the cloud infrastructure on GCP (including BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run and GKE)
• You safeguard data quality with validation rules, automated tests, monitoring and observability, and resolve data incidents down to the root cause
• You build data models (dimensional modeling, data vault) and safeguard consistency, lineage and governance
• You set up monitoring, alerting and cost control (FinOps) and deliver AI-ready datasets for use cases on Vertex AI

You work closely with software engineering and DevOps, product management, BI/analytics and data scientists.

What you bring

• A degree-level background and 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Cloud Data Engineer or similar
• Strong SQL and Python, plus scripting and automation (Python, Bash)
• Experience with a cloud data platform (GCP, AWS or Azure)
• Experience with ETL/ELT tooling, API integrations, Git and CI/CD
• A solid grasp of distributed systems, data warehousing and data architecture
• A proactive, structured way of working and ownership of platform and data stability

Nice to have

Experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow or Dataproc) and Google Cloud Professional certification, experience with data quality and observability, event-driven architecture, Vertex AI, FinOps, or experience in fintech, leasing or automotive.

• Salary: € 6,000 to € 8,000 gross per month (depending on experience)
